Volunteer Lunch Postponed, Harvest Donation Totals, Annual Report & More!

VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION POSTPONED!

Friends, please note that since Winter has decided to arrive a little early, we are postponing our Volunteer Appreciation lunch originally scheduled for tomorrow, December 9, 2017 at 12:30pm.  We'll let you know when we have a new date, as we want to make sure as many of our great volunteers can make it as possible. Thanks for all you do for Massaro Community Farm!  NEW DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY

MASSARO PRODUCE AT WOOSTER

Don't miss this week's opportunity to get your Massaro root vegetables, farm salsa and salad mix, along with many other great farm products at this week's Wooster Square Farmer's Market, Saturday 9am. However, due to expected snow, the market could close at 12pm so get there early!
Keep in mind that we and fellow farms count on YOU to fill your bags and baskets with lots of local goodies this holiday season.

FOOD DONATIONS EXCEED 10,000 LBS!

This time of year, we like to bring you news of all that we accomplished over the season. Each year we work to improve the farm land, develop our operations, and reach more families with farm-based educational offerings. But of all that we do, we are most pleased to let you know that with just a few weeks left in the year, our donations will top the 10,000 pound mark for the first time since we began growing vegetables in 2010. We couldn't do this, or provide food education and preserve this wonderful piece of land without your support.

We kicked off the year in style with a concert by the fabulous Paul Winter Consort/Theresa Thomason, welcomed a new farm baby, and wrapped the season by reuniting with Jim Massaro, grandson of the original Jim & Mary Massaro. Read the full report HERE to see where all that fresh produce was donated and highlights of all our accomplishments in 2017.

MASSARO BOARD MEMBER

RECEIVES YALE MEDAL

Woodbridge resident, Anne Boucher, who joined the farm's board of directors in November 2015, was recently honored with a Yale Medal, the highest award the Alumni Association gives to recognize outstanding service. As an alumni, Anne has remained committed to the Yale Crew Association and YaleWomen, a group organized to give voice to the women alumni of Yale. You can read the full article HERE.

MANY THANKS TO ANNE FOR HER ENERGY AND
COMMITMENT TO THE FARM!
