45 Acres of woods and wetlands
COVID 19 Update- The Nature trail will continue to remain open for public use.
Massaro Community Farm is a 57 acre parcel made up of approximately 12 acres of cultivated fields and open land, along ~45 acres of woods and wetlands. Thanks to the efforts of local Boy & Girl Scout Troops, we have created a Nature Trail that allows neighbors and visitors to explore the woods and wetlands of the farm. Trail guides are generally posted at the farm information map located in our parking area, and at the head of the trail, which is at the Northeast tree line. You can find the trailhead by walking East from the parking area, past the farm greenhouse and apiary.
Along your exploration of the trail's two loops (blazed pink and blue), you will find a variety of native flora and fauna. We have had reported sightings of plenty of bird species, frogs, deer, bobcat, raccoon, and even a coyote guarding her den. The trail is a wonderful way to experience the changing seasons on the farm, and especially beautiful on snowshoes! The Nature Trail is open from dawn to dusk 365 days a year. No dogs or bicycles please!
