HAPPY 4TH OF JULY FROM MASSARO FARM!
As we celebrate our nation’s birthday, join us as we continue to celebrate the farm’s centennial through 2016! This year marks 100 years since the Massaro Family arrived in Woodbridge to start what would become the community-based farm we are today.
Continue to check our website calendar for events and activities taking place throughout the season!
You can find our produce weekly at both the Woodbridge Library Farmer’s Market, Wednesdays 3:30-6:30pm, and at the Edgewood Park Farmer’s Market, Sundays from 10:00am-1pm, at the corner of West Rock and Whalley Aves in Westville.
As always, for your safety, if parking lot is full, please follow signs to park along Ford Street or in the former Hilltop Health Center parking lot, across the street at the corner of Ford Street and Ford Road. 
OPEN FARM DAYS SPECIAL DAY THIS WEEK!
Open Farm Days, our drop-in sessions in the Learning Garden where you can plant, water, harvest and so much more will take place during CSA pickup today from 2:30-5:30pm.
Introduce your little ones to the joys of growing and picking your own veggies. Get your gardening questions answered, visit and feed the farm chickens, take a self-guided walk on the nature trail, and enjoy our beautiful 57-acre farm. Tools and gloves provided. Bring a water bottle if you plan to stay for a while.

DINNER ON THE FARM TICKETS ON SALE NEXT WEEK!

For those of you eagerly anticipating this one-of-a-kind locally prepared feast set among the fields and flowers of Massaro Community Farm,

tickets go on sale Tuesday, July 5
. This year’s event, on Sunday September 4, 2016, will feature wonderful dishes masterfully prepared by Chef Denise Appel, historical artifacts of the Massaro family, videos, student-created art and a tour of the farm.
This event routinely sells out so get your tickets early!
COMING UP: ORGANIC PEST MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP
Wednesday, July 6 5:30-6:30pm 

Visit the farm next Wednesday, July 6 at 5:30pm to get some tips for spotting common garden pests as well as recipes using common household ingredients to keep those pesky bugs from eating all your lovely garden produce! No RSVP necessary, just show up! FREE
DARLING HOUSE OPEN HOUSE WITH MASSARO
Also, Massaro Farm will partner with the Thomas Darling House at its next open house, Sunday, July 17 from 2:00-4:00pm. Enjoy cold hearth food prepare by making butter and fresh ice cream. See Massaro family photos, documents and authentic farm tools. There will also be an essential oils workshop at 3pm on the porch where you can learn about every day uses for common essential oils. The horse barn, will also be open.  Please join us for this fun-filled afternoon to celebrate historic Woodbridge farming.

Registration is now open for Woodbridge Rec Camp at Massaro Community Farm. Due to an overwhelming demand, we will be accepting 5-year-olds during the first week of camp, August 8-12. 
Our summer camp program picks up where Woodbridge Rec leaves off with morning half-day sessions for 6-9-year-olds exploring the farm and nature trail.
Week 1: August 8-12
Week 2: August 15-19
We’d love to be able to offer this camp for third week as well, August 22-26. If you’re interested in registering your child during this week, please us know by calling the farm office (at 203-736-8618) or making a note on your registration form when you send it in.Space is limited; registration is recommended no later than July 22, 2016.
We’re also booking summer field trips for your camp, home school group or organization. Check for available dates by calling the farm office or checking with Education Director, Robyn Stewart, via email,[email protected].
