National CSA Week!
Everyone who signs up for our CSA this week will receive a free jar of our Heirloom Salsa!
National CSA Day (now National CSA Week) was launched in 2015 by Small Farm Central, a farmer founded company with a mission to support fellow small farmers. Their research showed that late February was the most popular time to join a CSA across the country. They sought to build on that by celebrating and promoting Community Supported Agriculture for the last week of February, hoping to inspire even more people to sign up at this time. Whether you will be a returning subscriber or a first-timer, join others from coast to coast and beyond, make this the moment to affirm your support for local farms, and sign up for a CSA.
By signing up and making payment now you:
  • Ensure your place in our CSA is secure;
  • Provide needed funds to pay our staff and purchase essential supplies;
  • Allow us to focus on farm tasks, having completed CSA sales before spring.
We offer sliding scale pricing for our CSA, which engages the community in Community Supported Agriculture, allowing us to practice economic solidarity, providing mutual support for the cost of our programs. In this way we make our produce more accessible and ensure we cover the costs of operation. Choose the pricing tier that fits with your income and access to wealth, and help us create a more just, equitable food system. Payment in full is requested for our CSA whenever possible, however we do offer automatic monthly and weekly payment plan options when you sign up at our GrownBy page or using the GrownBy app. You can also download a CSA registration form and drop it off at the farm, or mail it in to the farm.
Online Store and Organic Seeds Fundraiser
Order through our online store
Pickup Friday 12-5pm
In-person shopping available as well
We’ve partnered with High Mowing Organic Seeds to raise funds to support this year’s produce donations and on-farm education programs. We have a selection of seed packets for sale in our store and some carefully curated gift box collections available for purchase as well. These easy-to-grow varieties will do great in garden beds, containers or pots. Get ready for the first plantings of the season with salad greens, peas, radishes and broccoli, and start thinking about tomatoes and peppers, which can spend 6-8 weeks inside before being planted out in May.
This week we have lettuce, kale, radishes, eggs and our jarred tomato products are all available in our store. We’ve harvested the last of our carrots from the tunnels, and we are hoping to harvest more from an overwintered bed in the field. Supply of eggs and our freshly harvested produce is limited, so we suggest ordering online, but you can also shop our farm store in-person on Friday, from 12-5pm. For those who can’t make it to the farm we’ll be at the CitySeed Winter Market on Saturday. The winter market is located at Conte West Hills Middle School, 511 Chapel Street.
Store dates (Fridays, 12-5pm): Feb 24, Mar 10 & 24
Market dates (Saturdays, 10am-1pm): Feb 25, Mar 11 & 25
Final Week to Buy a Brick
Last year we partnered with Emmett O’Brien Technical School students to construct an educational pavilion in our Learning Garden. The basic structure is complete, allowing us to put it to use this year, but there is still work to be done.
Etch your place in farm history by purchasing a brick that will encircle the foundation of the pavilion. Bricks come in two sizes and can be purchased through the farm’s website or using the following link. Bricks will be ordered in March and installed this spring. Small brick (4” x 8”): $100; Large brick (8” x 8”); $250
